Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
(PG-13) 201 mins

Wow. That's pretty much all I have to say. I hate to build the film up for readers who haven't seen it yet, but this is quite possibly one of the best movies I've ever seen. I will go so far as to say that the first two almost just set up this film. Everything is just on a higher level. The adrenaline is on a much higher level, as at every point in the 3.5 hour film is critical to the outcome. Not only that, but the actors really grow into their roles and give great performances, most notably Sam (Sean Astin). But not only that, the scope of the film is so wide and so effective that you can't help but be in awe every moment. Every shot is put together with such immense detail. I really can't say enough at how amazing the film is from start to finish…well…make that start to climax. I don't think I can conceive a grander epic ever being created. Oh, one more thing. Doesn't the head orc guy remind you of the dude from Goonies?
