Never Been Kissed (1999)

Drew Barrymore returns to the Romance-Comedy role which has brought her repeated success. She of course brings with her her charm which she brings to every role as the 'girl next door' type. What's the situation? Something about going back to high school to write a story about young people. Yeah the whole plot is pretty lame, the climax is a bit overdone, and a lot of the situations are rather cheesy, but the reason Romance-Comedies work as a whole is from the charm of the lead characters, which this has in spades. Drew Barrymore, David Arquette and Michael Vartan (Vaughn from Alias) are fun to watch and that makes the film truly enjoyable.
